Which size and ideal height for your Fan

Which size ?

The table below gives an indication what diameter fan is needed for a given room size. The sizes are for square rooms with a ceiling height of between 2.30 m and 3.30 m. In higher rooms, choose the next largest fan diameter. Ultraslim ceiling fans move less air than downrod fans. Very often we are asked: isn’t 132 cm very big? Sure, if you imagine a disc with a diameter of 132 cm on your ceiling, then that’s big indeed. But please remember that the fan’s motor measures only 30 cm in diameter. Depending on the model, fans may have 3, 4 or 5 blades that are much narrower. This means that the device looks much more dainty than a disc of the same diameter.

Room size - Fan Diameter

up to 8 sqm. (86 sqft.) - 75 cm

8 - 10 sqm. (108 sqft.) - 90 cm

10 - 12 sqm. ( 108 - 129 sqft.) - 103 cm

12 - 16 sqm. (129 - 165 sqft.) - 120 cm

16 - 25 sqm. (165 - 269 sqft.) - 132 cm

18 - 32 sqm. (194 - 344 sqft.) - 140 cm

25 - 45 sqm. (269 - 484 sqft.) - 160 cm

30 - 50 sqm. (323 - 558 sqft.) - >180cm

Which height ?

A ceiling fan with the standard short downrod is perfect for ceiling heights of up to about

2.6 m. Up to a ceiling height of about 4.0 m, it is advisable to use a 60 cm downrod. Alternatively, a 120 cm downrod can be used. For structural reasons and where necessary ourdownrods can be slightly shortened to any intermediate size.
